MACCAROOT

Raised in St Andrews, Grenada - a rugged terrain of rhythm with historically political undercurrents; this pulse of island life laid the foundation of Macca’s prophet-like way with word sound.

Motivated by truth, human rights, and the metaphysical realms, Macca gravitated towards artists with strong vocal ability, and lyrical flair such as Peter Tosh, Vaughn Benjamin, Dennis Brown and KRS-One. These political, social and forward-thinking artists with messages of love, power and justice would soon echo through his own work.

Self taught and mastered, Maccaroot has stacked up a solid archive and has featured on a number of different tracks for European artists and producers. A multi-faceted musician who is steadily creating a melodic-melting-pot of his own.
